ITEM INFORMATION

Q. What does "vintage" mean?

A. Vintage defines any item that is 20 years old or older. Our items are authentic vintage and are always unique. We source the items in our shop from all over the world. We work hard to research these items, and it is an honor for us to tell their unique story.

Q. How do I know the condition of an item?

A. Because we sell pre-owned vintage items that are 20+ years old, we understand the importance of giving very clear descriptions and conditions of each item. Each item description includes the Item Condition and Item Details, as well as clear and detailed photos. Any flaws in the item are clearly described.

Q. I see something in your shop that I am interested in, but it is marked 'SOLD OUT'. Will it be restocked? How can I purchase one like it?

A. The items in our shop are one-of-a-kind vintage items - you need to act quickly to get these items before they are gone! When an item sells, that particular item is no longer available and cannot be restocked. However, we may be able to find another similar item for you (which is why the SOLD items are still shown in our shop). Please contact us if you would like us to locate a similar item - we are always happy to help! You can also sign up for our newsletter and follow us on Instagram and Facebook to see previews of items coming to our shop.

Q. Where do you find the vintage items you offer in your store?

A. We are always on the "hunt" for vintage treasures! We spend a lot of time traveling and searching before we find "just the right" products that we love and want to share with you. We are very selective in the products we choose for our store - offering only items that we feel have exceptional value and that you will love. We especially love finding unique, hard-to-find and unusual items - items that have a story, character, and value to add to your home.

Q. I have a similar item to an item in your store, can you tell me what it's worth?

A. We are not professional appraisers - therefore we do not offer appraisals on vintage or antique items.

We suggest you contact an antique appraiser near you, or use a website such as Worthpoint to determine the value of your item.

Q. I see a sold item in your store - what did it sell for?

A. Out of respect for the privacy of our customers, we do not reveal prices of items that have sold.


ORDERING INFORMATION

Q. Do I have to create an account to place an order?

A. No. You can checkout without registering an account. Creating an account just makes it easier for you to order again in the future.

Q. What payment options are accepted?

A. We accept all major Credit Cards, as well as PayPal, Pay with Amazon, and Apple Pay (Apple Pay when ordering from your phone or iPad).

Q. Can I buy from your website in a currency other than US dollars?

A. Yes! Our payment processing gateway automatically converts the currency for you.

Q. Can I cancel my order?

A. Yes, as long as your order has not yet shipped, it can be cancelled. Please note that we ship fast (usually within 24 hours, often times sooner), so you will want to contact us as soon as possible after placing your order, if you wish to cancel.

Q. How can I check the status of my order?

A. When you place an order, you will receive an Order Confirmation email, which includes a link to check the status of your order. When your order ships, you will receive a Shipping Confirmation email, which includes a link to track your package. You may also contact us via email or use the Contact Us button on any page in our shop, and we will be happy to help you.

Q. Can I place a order over the phone?

A. We do not currently offer ordering over the phone.

SHIPPING INFORMATION

Q. What are the shipping charges?

A. Shipping charges will be calculated once you add an item (or items) to your shopping cart (before you checkout). The actual shipping charge is based on weight, size of the package, and your location.

Q. How long does it take to receive an item?

A. Delivery times vary based on your location and on the shipping method selected. Estimated delivery dates will be shown during checkout. Please see our Shipping Information page for more details.

Q. Do you ship internationally?

A. Yes - we ship worldwide! Please see our Shipping Information page for more details.

Q. Do you ship to P.O. Boxes or APO/FPO addresses?

A. Packages that are shipped via the USPS can be shipped to PO Boxes or APO/FPO addresses. Packages shipped via UPS cannot be shipped to a PO Box or APO/FPO address.

Q. Can I choose a different delivery address?

A. During check out, you can choose to add a shipping address that is different than your billing address.

Q. I'm in Minnesota, may I pick up my order from you?

A. We do not offer local pickup at this time.

Q. How can I track my package?

A. When your order ships, you will receive a Shipping Confirmation message that includes tracking information for your package.


SALES TAX

Q. Will I have to pay sales tax on my order?

A. Orders placed and shipped to a Minnesota address will incur sales tax on the purchase price. We do not charge sales tax for any other state. If you are in Minnesota, you will see the sales tax charge in your shopping cart before you complete your purchase.


INTERNATIONAL CURRENCY

Q. I see there are several international currency display options on your website. However, when I am on the checkout page, I see the currency converted back to USD - why is that?

A. Because our store is located in the United States, the final checkout page converts all currency to the US Dollar equivalent at the current exchange rate. Exchange rates are refreshed twice a day based on the rates at XE.com.

Q. I am an international customer and I do not see my country currency in the list. Can I still place an order?

A. Yes, absolutely! We ship worldwide, so even if you do not see your country currency in the list, you can still place an order, you just won't see the currency displayed in your format. To see the exchange rate, you can visit the website XE.com to look it up, or you can contact us with your country information, and we would be happy to add it to the list for you. We work fast, and we are always happy to help spread vintage around the world.


RETURNS

Q. Do you accept returns?

A. All sales on vintage items are FINAL. Please see our Return Policy for more information.


SOURCING ITEMS FOR YOU

Q. Do you work with prop stylists, interior designers, and prop houses?

A. Yes! We love helping interior designers and prop stylists/prop houses! Many of our items have been used in movies and television shows, as well as magazine shoots. We've also worked with interior designers to help them find just the right piece for their design. If you are looking for something particular for your project, please contact us and we will be happy to help.


PROMOTIONS

Q. Do you ever have sales or special promotions?

A. “Like” us on Facebook or subscribe to our newsletter to receive email updates about our newest arrivals, sales and special offers for subscribers only.


NEWSLETTER

Q. Do you have a newsletter I can sign up for?

A. Yes - we publish articles 2 to 4 times a month, and occasional special promotional emails. You can sign up to receive this information from us at Email Signup or by filling in your information in the Newsletter Signup at the bottom right of our website.

A. Yes! Our shop is hosted by Shopify, a leader in secure shopping, using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology.

Q. What are your hours of operation?

A. We are generally available Monday through Friday from 10:00am to 3:00pm Central Time.

Please know that we may not physically be in our shop during these hours, as we spend a good amount of time on the road sourcing vintage items for our inventory. But - we are almost always connected in one way or another - via phone, email, or live chat. If we are in a remote area with no cell coverage or wi-fi access, or if we are in the middle of digging in a barn or bidding at a live auction, we might not be able available immediately, but if you leave a message, you can be sure we will get back to as quickly as possible - usually within minutes.


MISCELLANEOUS QUESTIONS

Q. What can I expect when shopping at ThirdShift?

A. Nothing but the best, of course! We are online shoppers ourselves. We get that sometimes, you're not sure of what you are actually buying, since you can't touch and feel the item in the virtual online world. But... we cater to that! We take awesome photos that show you all the details of each item... including the flaws. That's right. Flaws. Because with vintage, there are usually well-loved flaws in the items you find... flaws are what make vintage items unique - and give them character. We don't hide flaws, we show them clearly. AND we write very descriptive paragraphs to let you know what you'll be buying. Why? Because we care. We really do. Our main goal is to have happy, EXCITED customers that LOVE LOVE LOVE their purchases! When you love the items we provide, it makes us happy. We like happy! We especially like (LOVE) happy customers!

Because the items we sell are vintage, unique, and usually one-of-a-kind, each sale is a final non-returnable sale. We understand that might concern you, in this world of instant returns, if you aren't happy. That's why we go overboard in our photos and descriptions to ENSURE you are completely happy, and know exactly what you are buying, before you hit that SUBMIT ORDER button. We're human, too, and we want only the best for you. Rest assured that when you complete a purchase with ThirdShift, you will receive an item just as described in our listing. It will be packaged with the utmost care to ensure a safe arrival, and we'll keep in touch with you every step of the way to let you know when your package has shipped, we'll provide tracking information so you can see when it will arrive, and a confirmation of when it has been delivered. Q. Do you work with bloggers for product reviews?

A. We are always happy when bloggers want to spread the word about our vintage shop! Most bloggers write reviews about products that are sold in large quantities, where the reviews typically encourage others to purchase those items. However, with ThirdShift, our items are one-of-a-kind vintage items - when they sell out, they are gone. So while we really enjoy reading reviews of these unique purchases, product reviews written by bloggers are more about our shop in general than about specific products. Q. Do you have a blog?

A. Yes, we do! We have a very active blog at https://www.thirdshift3.com/blog/ . We write about all things vintage - including shopping tips for estate sales, flea markets, yard sales, and auctions. We also have fun articles about the history of vintage, as well as tips and do-it-yourself (DIY) articles on how to upcycle vintage or find unexpected ways to use vintage pieces. Our blog also has a Vintage Resources section with links to a variety of places where you can find more information when researching vintage.
